Tom Ogle

Tom set the automotive world on it's ear in the 1970's, right after  the middle east oil crisis. The price of oil had skyrocketed, and people were looking for a way to get some financial relief. He invented a system that got over 100 miles per gallon on a full-sized V8 Ford sedan.

The local El Paso press did numerous write ups about him and his system, and fully documented his results! In one of the interviews with him, he tells how a Shell Oil Company representative asked what he would do if someone offered him $25 million for his patent. He turned it down, stating that he was going to mass produce it and sell it to the public.

It didn't take long after that. Within a short time, before he was able to get all the bugs out of his system and go public with it, he died of an apparent drug and alcohol overdose. No one has ever publicly stated that they were able to perfect it, and once again, another revolutionary vision fades away.

I contacted the El Paso Times on several occasions requesting permission to carry the original articles on this site. They flat-out refused. So instead, the following are edited transcripts of 6 different articles chronicling Tom's progress.
